Special 1 day retreat training course to deepen your mindfulness practice and knowledge

1 day mindfulness retreat with Dr. Walsh



This 1 day retreat is designed for people who have some experience of mindfulness and want a deepening experience (for example, people who have completed at least one level of Mindfulness with Dr. Walsh short course or an equivalent). It aims to enhance your ability to apply mindfulness to the challenges of your daily life.

All training proceeds go towards supporting the public Resources available at mindfulness.org.au and our awareness raising efforts.

1 day mindfulness retreat by Dr. Walsh, constellation, practical, mindful, anxiety

This workshop will use action methods of learning. These methods create an immediate live experience of some of the more difficult-to-grasp concepts that are so important for an effective mindfulness practice. Some of these methods will be derived from Dr Walsh's many years of experience running family constellation workshops (read more about Dr. Walsh's work in constellation here).


The retreat will focus on:


  • How acceptance and a nonjudgmental stance can make you more effective in the world

  • How to approach difficult feelings and experiences without being overwhelmed by them

  • Precise tuning in to body sensations

  • Developing genuine compassion for yourself and others without increasing your vulnerability to abuse.

Requirement: completion of at least 1 level of Mindfulness with Dr. Walsh short course or equivalent training elsewhere (e.g. MBSR, MBCR or MiCBT course, or 10 day Vipassana retreat).

09:15 arrival for 09:30 start - 5:00 PM

Food: Morning and Afternoon Tea will be provided. Cafes available for lunch.

Retreat materials: Once registered, you will be sent introductory reading to help you prepare for the workshop

Getting there:

Parking is available on the north side of St Heliers St. at a cost of $6 in coins as at 2018 (gold coins preferred, no ticket or receipt issued).  

Public Transport: 

Train - Victoria Park station on the Epping and Hurstbridge lines is the closest railway station. Please note that some services express past Victoria Park station. Once on Johnston St, walk east (away from the City) for around 12 minutes to Clarke St. Turn right into Clarke Street (the last right before the Yarra) and left into St Heliers St. 

Buses - travel regularly from Victoria Park Station down Johnston St. 

Bus from the City- the 200, 201 and 207 depart from Melbourne Central/ Lonsdale St in the city, run along Lygon St, Elgin St then Johnston St. Alight at Clarke Street bus stop. Turn right at Clarke St then turn left into St Heliers St.

Bus from Melbourne University The 205 runs via Elgin and Johnston St and past Clarke St.
